NAPLAN

We would like to inform you about the upcoming National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) for Year 7 and Year 9 students at Mickleham Secondary College. This year, NAPLAN will take place between March 11th – March 23rd, 2026 assessing students’ skills in reading, writing, conventions of language, and numeracy as part of the national curriculum.
The tests will be conducted online, providing an adaptive and precise assessment experience. While NAPLAN is an important measure of student progress, it is just one of the many tools we use to understand and support your child's learning.
We encourage you to support your child by reassuring them that NAPLAN is simply an opportunity to demonstrate what they have learned. Their best effort is what matters most. Our teachers will be preparing students in the lead-up to the assessments to ensure they feel confident and familiar with the test format.
Please note that the Year 7 and Year 9 Students will be completing a NAPLAN Practice Test on Monday, March 2nd, in preparation for NAPLAN. This will help our students familiarise themselves with the NAPLAN platform and provide them with a valuable experience in managing their time under test conditions.
For more detailed information, please refer to the Principal’s letter and the VCAA NAPLAN information handout attached.
Please remind your child to bring their laptops to school fully charged.
