PRINCIPAL'S WELCOME

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to the 2026 school year and our first newsletter of the year!

It has been a positive and productive start at Mickleham Secondary College. Our students have returned energised and our staff continue to support them to be focused and ready to learn, ensuring a smooth and engaging beginning to the year.

Already, Year 7 students have settled in well and participated in a range of enriching incursions designed to extend learning beyond the classroom and connect curriculum to real-world experiences. These opportunities are an important part of our commitment to providing a dynamic and engaging education.

We have also completed our whole-school PAT testing in literacy and numeracy. This data provides valuable insights into individual student growth and allows our teachers to tailor their teaching to meet student needs with precision. In addition, our Year 7 and 9 students have completed practice NAPLAN assessments to ensure they feel confident and well prepared for the official testing period later this term.

We continue to work as a community on embracing our high expectations and our college values: Achievement, Respect, Community and Honesty in their learning and interactions. As our college continues to grow and evolve, we remain committed to excellence, strong relationships, and continuous improvement.
