Ciara Harvey

Hi, my name is Ciara Harvey and this is my second year of teaching and my first year at South Oakleigh College. I am originally from Kerikeri, New Zealand, and have been teaching in Melbourne since Term 2, 2025. My teaching methods are PE, Health, and Humanities, and I currently teach students from Year 7 to Year 10. I am an outgoing, supportive, and caring teacher who strives to ensure all students have equal opportunities to learn and succeed. Outside of the classroom, I am a keen sports player, with netball being my main sport.

Dr. Matthew Lay

Greetings SOC community. My name is Dr Matthew Lay and I am a  Senior Mathematics Teacher. I teach Year 11 Mathematical Methods, Year 10 Mathematics, Year 9 Innovation & Problem Solving, Year 7 Science, and Year 7 Acceleration Mathematics.

With an educational background in experimental physics, I spent many years working in research before transitioning into education. Since 2020, I have taught in both public and private schools, drawing on prior professional experience as a patent attorney to connect classroom learning with real-world applications. Outside the classroom, I'm an avid Formula 1 fan and proudly serve as an Army Cadets Officer.

Hanqi Du

Hello everyone,My name is Hanqi Du, and I am a Mathematics teacher at the College, teaching Year 9 Mathematics, Year 10 Money Matters, and VCE Mathematical Methods (Years 11 and 12). I graduated from Monash University with a Master of Teaching. Prior to teaching, I worked in audit at PwC, making teaching my second professional career. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy travelling and snowboarding.

Tim Wischusen

My name is Tim Wischusen, and I’m a PE and Health teacher. I currently teach Year 12 Physical Education, Year 7–9 PE and Health, and Year 10 Active for Life. I’ve been an educator for the past 16 years, spending most of my career at Mordialloc College, with additional experience teaching and coaching hockey in the UK.

Outside the classroom, hockey has always been a big part of my life. I also love the outdoors and enjoy camping with my family and getting involved in as many outdoor adventure activities as possible.

Stacee Reddy

Hi, I’m Stacee Reddy and I have taken over the Math/Numeracy Learning Specialist Role this year and am excited to be at South Oakleigh College. I’m currently taking lovely Year 7 and 9 classes whilst supporting other Maths teachers in and out of the classroom. I originally trained in Primary Teaching before realising I had a passion for the older students – ensuring learning was engaging and relevant in a Secondary setting. In my personal time I enjoy line dancing and spending time with my family.

Paige Hughes

My name is Paige Hughes, and my teaching subjects are Maths and Physics. I am currently finishing my Master’s degree in Teaching, this is my first year as a teacher which I am excited about. I hold a bachelors Degree in Science and Maths. Some personal hobbies include crafts, all types of crafts from sewing to crocheting! I also love to read!

Jack Hughes 

Hello all. My name is Jack Hughes and I am joining SOSC as a maths and science teacher this year. This is my sixth year working as a teacher, having previously worked at four different schools teaching a variety of different subjects. Over those years I have increasingly learned that my preferred areas are Science and Maths, which is what I am (very happily!) teaching here. Outside of the classroom my interests include chess and running.

Jarryd Rayment

Hi, my name is Jarryd Reyment (Mr Reyment).

I previously taught VCE Legal Studies, VCEVM and humanities at Blackburn High School and am excited about the move to South Oakleigh College! I graduated from Deakin Law School in 2022 before completing my Master of Applied Learning (Secondary) and am eager to continue to spread my love and passion for teaching, civics and citizenship and the VM program.

I enjoy reading, playing footy, basketball and watching anime with my housemates in my spare time , some of my favourites are hunter x hunter and attack on titan. I love to have a chat and learn how to best support each student and incorporate their interests in class.

Peter Hough

I began my career as a secondary English and Humanities teacher before crossing to primaryschool teaching grade 5-6. I’ve had opportunities to work across a range of senior leadershiproles, both in schools and as member of regional Inner East area team.A career highlight has been leading the Oakleigh Education Plan, a collaborative partnershipbetween South Oakleigh College, Huntingdale, Oakleigh South and Oakleigh Primary Schoolswhich continues in 2026 as the Oakleigh Education Precinct.This year I join SOC providing coaching support to the SOC leadership team.
