Mitch Tucker - School Council President
As we begin the new school year, the School Council would like to welcome all the new families that are joining the EPS community this year, including the preps who look to have settled in spectacularly well. Thanks to the EPS staff for their work in making the transition to the new year as successful as possible.
The 2024 Council met for the final time last month. Council discussed potential future traffic plans for the area surrounding the school and ongoing security settings for the site.
We reflected that 2024 was a successful year for the school, with encouraging results and feedback evident in the various surveys and assessments that were conducted. Council hopes to continue to support the school in 2025 to improve on and embed these results.
Enrolment numbers at EPS have grown stronger, and any potential starters in 2026 should book a school tour soon to better understand what EPS can offer.
We noted completed and ongoing building and school improvement works. Highlights include reseeding the oval and replacing the tables on the Deck. Some of these works are a direct result of fundraising efforts last year – thank you to all involved in organising the fabulous events in 2024 that have allowed that work.
We look forward to the Parents and Carers Association restarting. The work that the PCA has done in the past, and will do this year, raises valued funds but, more importantly, strengthens our sense of community. The PCA will be a great (and fun) way for parents and carers to get involved, so please do!
You will have seen a recent call for nominations to join the School Council for the 2025 term. School Council, the PCA, and the other volunteering activities that occur throughout the year each provide a different way for parents and carers to contribute. We encourage all parents and carers to become involved in whatever way suits them best. These opportunities all meaningfully help the school prosper, and enable us, as parents and carers, to better connect with the school,

2024 President
