Christmas Movie Night Fundraiser - Junior Leadership Round Square

Not even an oncoming storm could dampen the spirits of the Junior Leadership students as they worked hard to fundraise for the Alice Springs Foodbank.

Junior leaders had chosen the Grinch as the Christmas movie for their fundraising event with their very own Grinch (aka Ben Bloomer in all his greenness).

On Monday during our meeting, students had created Christmas lolly bags to sell and shared what baked goodies they would bring to raise money for the Foodbank.

Eagerly students spent time after school on Thursday decorating the Fred Shed and setting up their snack stall with Jayden’s gingerbread ice-cream sandwiches and others making brownies, cupcakes and cookies. There was a best dressed prize with two $10 Café vouchers up for grabs won by Ben and Viraaj/Denny combined. Unfortunately, only 15 minutes into students enjoying their snacks and movie the storm hit and the power went out.

Our senior leaders took charge and created a series of games to keep our juniors entertained until their parents could come and rescue them from the wind and rain. They really appreciated the efforts of our College leaders and enjoyed what would have been a fun night.

Overall this Junior Leadership effort raised over $100 for the Alice Springs Foodbank.

Hopefully we will see lots of new faces in 2024 when our Year 7’s move into Year 8 and can also join in the Round Square Leadership program for juniors.
