Students recieve Cert II in Applied Languages

Congratulations to six of our Indigenous students Ella Williams Morton, Jordy Williams Morton, Phyllis Gorey Swan, Shanille Braybon, Giaan Campbell and Sazkoda Dunn who have completed a Certificate II in Applied Languages. This course was offered to Year 10 and 11 students who have knowledge and background in Indigenous languages. The course values Arrernte and other Central Desert Indigenous languages and allows the students to engage with learning to read and write in their language. Students attended classes each week run by the Alice Springs Language Centre participating in a variety of practical community-based activities to support their learning in Central Arrernte, Yankunytjatjara, Eastern Arrernte and Luritja. I would like to take this opportunity to thank their language teachers Jannette McCormack, Susan Moore and David Moore who have supported our students through the completion of this course. Well done to all the students involved you should be proud of your achievement.
