Linda Mill - Librarian/Resource Manager

There has been a happy but busy vibe in the library in the last month or so - Year 12’s have been studying for their end-of-year exams, teachers have been meeting students to go through SACS and other work in preparation and there have been quite a few classes in the L1 classroom, taking up the slack while M Block is being used for Year 12 exams. It’s been fantastic to see so many students using the library during this time. I wish the Year 12’s all the best for their exams and for the next steps in their future.
If you happen to be a listener of ABC Radio National, you’ll be aware that a couple of weeks ago they announced the list of books that made it on to this list. The Australian public was encouraged to vote for their favourites and at present, you’ll find in the front window of the library, a display of the 40 books we have from that list.

The challenge for staff and students is to check out how many they have read or be encouraged to read some books from this list. Everything from Harry Potter to the Hunger Games, The Book Thief to Lessons in Chemistry is on the list. There’s also a bookmark with all the listed books and where to find them in the library, for those avid readers who want to work through this list, long after the display has been taken down.
