Sunshine Week to Fundraise for Sunshine Bendigo

Thank you Epsom families!  Together we raised a total of $283 with our wear yellow day to raise money for Sunshine Bendigo. You also donated many clothes, nappies, toys etc so that we can look after the little kids in Bendigo.  Your donations will make a huge difference.  Thank you all so much!

Can we please extend an extra special thank you to Luci Mayer, a parent from Epsom who brought this to our attention and organised Sunshine Week.  You have brought awareness and hopefully future support from the community of Epsom Primary School.

Mrs Ladd, Miss Jones, our 4 school captains and 4 of our senior student councillors attended Sunshine Bendigo to give our community donations and fundraising money as well as help sort clothes, wash toys and package donations.

A letter  recieved from the Sunshine Bendigo Team captured their visit:

Dear Epsom Primary School,

The school representatives that visited us today were such a lovely group, so well mannered and so interested in our Organisation.  Your school community should be so proud of them, and we all agreed with young people like those,  our community is in save hands.

Please accept our thanks for the school community’s support of our Organisation and please pass on our gratitude to everyone that made your “week of sunshine” such a special week.

We are so grateful for Luci instigating this, as without community support and awareness like this, we cannot do what we do.

Kind regards

Sharon, Glenda the Sunshine Bendigo Team

Batten's Awareness Day

On Friday the 14th of June our wonderful school held an awareness day for Batten's Disease. Many of you know our friend Zephyr in grade 4 has been diagnosed with Batten's disease. Zephyr is well known in our school as a cheeky, funny and playful boy who is loved by all.

We were overwhelmed by the support of our school community on this day and want to say a huge thank you for your incredible support.  It was so special to see the sea of orange children throughout the school. We had a long line of students waiting to purchase wrist bands and down balls as well, thank you.

Thank you also to the Grade 4 families for supporting Zeph with our special grade four party. We had so much fun and it was an amazing afternoon.
