🎤 Lilydale High’s Got Talent
Congratulations to all students who participated in Lilydale High’s Got Talent this year.
The Grand Finale in the PAC Theatre didn’t disappoint, with York Newell (Year 11) winning with his Guinness World Record-breaking performanc - making and flying three paper planes in under 28 seconds. It was a real crowd-pleaser!
York received a trophy, a $50 voucher, and his name on the LHGT perpetual shield.
Well done to Bella Hasenbos for her performance of It’s Flawless, Peter and Henry Buow for their magic comedy act, and the 4th Street performers - Charlie Glenn, Janussha Bala, Jordan Handley, and Caitlyn White.
🎶 LHS Open Night
Well done to the LHS Band, Funk Empire, and rock band HSD for their fantastic performances at the school Open Night on Thursday 19 March.
It was a wonderful evening, entertaining prospective students and their families, while showcasing the high level of musical talent and dedication of all our band students.
🌟 Celebrate Mooroolbark
Rock bands HSD and ABC joined in the festivities, performing on the main stage at this year’s festival, with Sigourney and Hermione also performing as a duo. Celebrate Mooroolbark showcases the spirit and creativity of the local community, and we were very proud to be part of it.
🎸 Instrumental Music Recruitment
The LHS Band, along with Funk Empire, performed for the Year 7 students at their Thrive assembly in Week 8, demonstrating the range of instruments available to learn at Lilydale High.
Many students have signed up for a free trial, with some places still available in clarinet, flute, and voice.
Use the link Instrumental Music Enrolments to register your interest or see Ms Goode in the PAC.
It’s not too late for students in Years 7–12 to discover what learning an instrument is all about.
MSO Open Rehearsal
In Week 6, the LHS Band, Funk Empire, and VCE Music students attended an MSO open rehearsal at Hamer Hall.
The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra is Australia’s pre-eminent orchestra, so it was an absolute privilege to see such talented musicians in action. Students also enjoyed a tour of the Australian Music Vault before participating in the interactive art installation, Cold Voice.
