ONE ACT TROUPE

🎭Curtains Up: Chaos, Creativity, and Courtroom Villains!
The One Act Play Troupe is back for another exciting year after the incredible success of 2025, and already the rehearsal room is buzzing with energy, ideas, and just the right amount of theatrical chaos. Students have been hard at work, meeting every Tuesday after school and giving up precious lunchtimes to shape this year’s performances from the ground up.
Our devised piece, Yuwaku, promises to be a bold and imaginative exploration of temptation, choice, and consequence. Built collaboratively, the work draws on the troupe’s creativity, with each moment shaped through improvisation and discussion.
This year, the troupe is taking greater creative ownership of the process, with students leading the way as a writing team, crafting the script themselves, composing original music, and designing the visual elements of the production. What begins as sparks of ideas is being shaped entirely by the ensemble into a cohesive and compelling performance.
Alongside this original work, the troupe is also tackling the sharp and darkly comedic 12 Angry Villains by Jason Pizzarello. This clever twist on a classic courtroom drama brings together a host of well-known fairytale villains, putting them on trial in a fast-paced, witty, and slightly wicked production.
We are also thrilled to be joined this year by Miss McGrotty, who brings her skills, experience, enthusiasm, and general brilliance to the troupe, further enriching the creative process.
With two dynamic pieces in development, 2026 is shaping up to be another standout year for the troupe. Keep an eye out performance dates will be announced soon, and you won’t want to miss what these talented students bring to the stage.
