💼 Year 10 Work Experience
Work experience is a valuable opportunity for students to explore future career pathways and make informed decisions about their senior studies.
We strongly encourage all students not attending the Year 10 Central Australia Camp to undertake work experience from 4 May – 8 May 2026.
Applications must be completed via the portal by the end of Term 1. Students have been emailed the application link. If you cannot locate it, please see the Careers Team this week.
👮 Victoria Police Work Experience Program
We were fortunate to secure one placement in the Victoria Police Work Experience Program.
Year 10 student Noah shares his experience:
During my work experience at the Lilydale Police Station, I was shown all the different departments they had, such as the Crime Investigation Unit, forensics, and highway patrol. I also had the opportunity to go out on patrol with them a couple of times, as well as help give the officers on duty their tasers, radios, batons, and sometimes their firearms.
While stationed there, I learnt about what they do when not out on duty, how they format and write their reports, and what their different terms for various crimes mean. I also learned the importance of gathering evidence so that people can be properly charged.
This experience was valuable because it helped me understand what it is like to be a police officer both in the office and out in the field. Overall, my work experience was really great and gave me a better understanding of what it's like to be in the police force.
