Auslan
with Mrs Sarah Bailey
Students participated in a range of reflective and revision activities this past fortnight during Auslan classes. I'm so proud of all the students for their effort, attention to detail when learning new signs and hand positions and enthusiasm to keep learning more! Here are some students showing emotions, signing their age/name and having conversations with each other. Data in student reports for Auslan will reflect that students have only had 1 Semester of learning this new language but I am super proud of how many different aspects they have started to learn - Reflecting on deaf culture, communicating (socialising, presenting information, translating) and understanding of the structure of Auslan grammar, the sign space and specific hand positions and further elements of signing. Keep practising together and with others in our community! I will move onto Performing Arts with P-2 classes next term but we will work in some more Auslan into our Christmas carol songs.....

Happy holidays and safe travels if you are going away,
