YEAR 10
Planning Your Journey

Head of Year 10 smcqueen1@cns.catholic.edu.au
It was wonderful to see so many of our Year 10 students actively involved in supporting our Open Evening. Their leadership, enthusiasm, and willingness to assist did not go unnoticed, and they represented the College with pride.
Looking ahead, information regarding our upcoming Year 10 Retreat will be shared in the coming weeks. Please also note that we are organising a comprehensive alternative program, including visits to JCU and TAFE. These experiences will play an important role in helping students make informed decisions about their Senior subject selections and future pathways.
While we recognise the importance of family time, absences during term can impact student learning and continuity. If a planned absence is unavoidable, we kindly ask that you inform me in advance via email. This allows us to consider appropriate support.
Please note that staff are not required to provide work or additional catch-up sessions during periods of absence; it is the student’s responsibility to liaise with teachers and catch up on missed content upon their return.
As a parent or carer, you have more influence over your child's career thinking than you might realise. Learn about some easy, practical steps to have great conversations and help guide your child as they explore future pathways: How you shape your child’s career thinking.
