Student Voice and Agency

Dear Parents and Carers,

A strong learning culture includes student voice as a source of feedback and improvement. One important way that we source this feedback is through the CES Feedback surveys that will be sent via email in Week 6.

They provide an opportunity for students and parents/carers to express your opinions and provide feedback on various aspects of education. This feedback is invaluable in understanding your experiences, needs, and expectations, allowing schools to make informed decisions and improvements. Incorporating feedback surveys as a regular practice fosters a culture of continuous improvement within our schools. We can reflect on our practices, identify areas for growth, and implement changes based on feedback.

Year 8 and Year 11 students will be emailed a link to the survey, and they will be completing that during weeks 6-8.

Another important way that we use student voice is through our Student Voice lunch sessions with College Principal, Kerry Manders.

These will be commencing again shortly. A group of students from each year level will have an opportunity to have lunch with the College Principal and provide feedback from their perspective, including suggestions for improvement. We do this at multiple points through the school year and is a valuable avenue for student voice. We encourage you to have that open discussion with your children. What are some of the ways they feel connected to the college? What are 'even better ifs...?' There will be opportunities for them to nominate themselves for these student voice lunches and we encourage them to do so.

In faith, hope and love,
