National Reconciliation Week

National Reconciliation Week is observed annually from 27 May to 3 June and provides an opportunity for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.
The week commemorates two significant milestones in Australia's reconciliation journey. On 27 May 1967, Australians voted overwhelmingly in a referendum to amend the Constitution, allowing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to be counted in the national census. On 3 June 1992, the landmark Mabo decision recognised the traditional rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to their lands and waters.
Reconciliation is about building respectful relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous Australians. It involves acknowledging the past, recognising the enduring connection of First Nations peoples to Country, and working together towards a more just, equitable and united future.
Reconciliation is everyone's responsibility. By learning, listening and acting with respect, we can all help create a stronger and more inclusive Australia for future generations.

We look forward to sharing more school updates and photos with you soon.
