We have received many requests from families across the southern peninsula for a netball competition closer to home. Nepean Netball operates at Truemans Road Recreation Reserve, where the courts were resurfaced early this year, providing a safer and more enjoyable experience for everyone involved.

We have a few opportunities available to the community:

6 Week Twilight Competition | Term 4

For the kids: Junior competition offering 9U to 17U.

For parents: Senior Mixed competition for players aged 15 years and over.

Please note that Open Mixed is an adult competition, and all players must be 15 years or older to take the court.

EOI for both twilight comps: https://forms.gle/VbQ6nbxKhUHWxbrx9

Further details: This is an Expression of Interest for our Spring Friday Twilight Competition.

Competition dates: Friday 16 October to Friday 27 November

6 week competition. No finals. No games on the Melbourne Cup long weekend. Games planned to start from 5:00pm onwards

If sufficient team numbers are received, the competition will be confirmed and further information will be provided to teams via email. An email will be sent to confirm your team entry once the competition is confirmed.

Please ensure all Expressions of Interest are completed in full.

Netball Representative Trials: Looking ahead to the 2027 season

The representative program is an opportunity for netballers to develop their skills at a higher level, train and compete with like minded players, and progress their netball pathway through further selection opportunities.

Trials will be held in October during Term 4 for players looking to represent Nepean Netball in the 2027 season.

We would greatly appreciate you sharing these opportunities with your school community and helping us reach local families who may be interested in the opportunities. We truely believe in giving players a fair go, being part of a local community gives individuals opportunity to be seen and not have to travel the courtyside at such early stages of their life.

MacKillop Family Services is calling on the community to make their home a safe space for vulnerable children and young people. Throughout the Sorrento area there continues to be a high demand for foster carers who can provide nurturing care and support for children in their local community.

Foster carers come from all walks of life. The most essential criteria is that they care, can provide a safe and nurturing home, and have room in their home to support a vulnerable child or sibling group.

MacKillop supports foster carers with comprehensive training, ongoing guidance and support, respite care and an around the clock helpline.

If you think this is a role that you and your family are ready for, call MacKillop Family Services on 1300 791 677 or visit mackillop.org.au/fostercare for further information or to make an enquiry.
