ATTENDANCE MATTERS

A gentle reminder to families that every day at school counts. Regular school attendance plays an important role in every child's learning, wellbeing and sense of belonging.

Every day at school provides opportunities for children to build friendships, strengthen relationships with teachers, develop confidence and engage in meaningful learning experiences.

We understand that there are times when children need to be absent due to illness or family circumstances. However, even small patterns of absence, late arrivals or early departures can add up over time and impact learning and connection to school.

How can families help?

  • Make regular attendance a priority and aim for your child to attend every school day when they are well.
  • Establish consistent morning and bedtime routines to support punctuality.
  • Wherever possible, schedule appointments outside school hours.
  • Avoid unnecessary late arrivals, early departures and extended absences.
  • Reach out to your child's classroom teacher or the wellbeing team if your child is experiencing difficulties coming to school. We are here to help.

At Stella Maris, we want every child to feel safe, connected, valued and excited to come to school.

By working together, families and school can build positive attendance habits and ensure every child has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive.

Every day matters.
