Lumen Day 2025

The College held its annual Lumen Day celebrations on Friday, 13 June.

In marking the 41st birthday of the College, we had added cause for celebration this year with the addition of two new College Houses.

The day began with Mass, where Fr Brennan encouraged staff and students to share their gifts and talents for the benefit of the community, no matter how small or insignificant we might think they are. This sentiment was brought to life through the contributions of Praise Club and the staff choir who shared their gift of music to enhance the celebration of the eucharist.

The annual Student Leadership Team video sought to highlight the interhouse rivalries that are being redefined through the expansion of the House system, and several teachers gratefully received their Teacher Tea Light awards for winning the student-nominated categories.

Each of the seven Houses hosted a range of food, snack and activity stalls during the middle of the day which provided students with an opportunity to relax and enjoy the festivities.

In the afternoon, many talented students provided the College with entertainment in the Talent Show which was closed out with a battle of the bands between the students who played Teenage Dirtbag and the staff who threw back to their youth with a tribute to Bon Jovi.

The day was a huge success and would not have been possible without the hard work and commitment of a team of people involved in its planning and success. I would also like to acknowledge the parents and other family members who came to help with a range of tasks on the day.
