Beyond the Bell
Episode 2- The Courage to Care: Sony Camp Reflections now live
Episode 2 of Beyond The Bell spotlights Sony Foundation Camp, where Mt A students have stepped up as carers of children with disability for over 20 years, and experienced the power of service, connection and inclusion.
Year 12 students Gemma and Daniela shared how Sony Camp shaped their empathy, confidence and leadership as Year 11 students and why the experience stays with you long after the camp ends.
We were also joined by alumnae Georgia (Class of 2015) and Miss Davis (Class of 2006 & Mt A staff), reflecting on the program’s lasting impact - from career paths to parenthood. Georgia’s experience at Mt A as Outreach Captain and her participation at Sony Camp influenced her career journey into social work.
A huge thank you to our special guests for their time and insights.

Hosted by our College Captains Monica and Niamh, Beyond the Bell is a podcast created to celebrate and share the many stories that make up our Mount Alvernia community. It offers parents and carers, students and staff a window into College life beyond the classroom – the moments, conversations and experiences that shape who we are.
Each episode shines a light on the people, passions and purpose that make our College what it is – exploring learning, leadership, wellbeing, faith, service and the everyday moments that matter. It’s about connection, courage and community, and sharing the stories that reflect who we are and who we are becoming.
