LifeLink Prayer

A Prayer for Charity
God of mercy and compassion,
We praise you for your goodness.
May your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Fill us with the spirit of loving service as we recognise in those we meet,
the face of Jesus your Son.
Through the generous work of our LifeLink welfare agencies,
may burdens be lifted from the shoulders of your people and may they feel
the warmth of your kindness and love.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
What is LifeLink Day?
The LifeLink Day Initiative was established in 1999…
To promote understanding of the Church’s response to people in need within the community.
To instil in Catholic students attending Archdiocesan Schools, a sense of responsibility for caring for those less fortunate.
To provide education and information of the work the LifeLink social service agencies, which help many thousands of Western Australians in need each year.
To encourage a “practical demonstration of Faith” by asking students, teachers and schools to organise a special fundraising event for LifeLink Day, with the proceeds aiding people in real need within the community.
LifeLink provides a wonderful opportunity for students attending Catholic schools within the Archdiocese of Perth to join together to show their support for the Church’s social service agencies – agencies which on behalf of us all, reach out to provide practical care and direct assistance to thousands of people in need each year.
Students at St Helena's Catholic Primary School were asked to explain how they, during this Jubilee year and through LifeLink, will be Pilgrims of Hope. Students drew a self portrait, artistically portraying this. Their individual portraits were then made into a photo mosaic showing how, together as one school community, we are 'Pilgrims of Hope' as we do Something Beautiful for God in our daily lives. Students are called to support LifeLink through our annual St Helena’s Feast Day and through other fundraising efforts throughout the year.
