On 14 September, 10 students travelled to St Mary's College in St Kilda to participate in the ACC Battle of the Bands. The group delivered a strong performance and represented the College exceptionally well, demonstrating their dedication, musicianship, and teamwork throughout the event.

On Monday evening, our Year 7 Music students presented their Semester 2 Year 7 Music Concert. The performance showcased the progress made by students in 7F-7I as they performed pieces they have been rehearsing on their concert band instruments throughout the semester.
The concert was an important learning experience, giving students the opportunity to prepare for and perform in an ensemble setting. The program also featured several students who undertake specialist instrumental lessons, as well as performances by our Rising Stars Band.
We encourage Year 7 students to consider joining the Rising Stars Band, which rehearses on Mondays from 3:30-4:30pm, or to explore instrumental lessons to further develop their musical skills. Congratulations to all students involved on a wonderful and successful evening of music-making.

On Tuesday, Kayden and Noah completed their VCE Music Repertoire Performance examination, each presenting a demanding 20-minute solo performance program. They are to be commended for their dedication, commitment, and the many hours of preparation required to reach this milestone. Both students performed with professionalism and confidence, showcasing the skills and musicianship they have developed throughout their studies. We also extend our sincere thanks to Elena Polevaya for accompanying the students on piano throughout their preparation and examination. Congratulations to Kayden and Noah on this significant achievement!
Our Music Soirée, held on Tuesday evening, provided a wonderful opportunity for students to share their musical achievements with family, friends, and staff. Performers presented a diverse range of repertoire, showcasing the progress, confidence, and musicianship they have developed throughout the year. A particular highlight was seeing a few students take to the stage for their first or second solo performance. The evening was a celebration of dedication and hard work, and it was a pleasure to witness such a broad range of talent.
