Grade 3-6 Athletics Day 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

What a fantastic day we had at our Grade 3-6 Athletics Day at Knox Athletics Track on Monday 17 September!

We were treated to beautiful blue skies and perfect conditions as our students participated in a huge day of athletics. Throughout the day, students competed in discus, high jump, long jump, shot put, 100m and 200m, with the 800m and 1500m offered as optional events. It was wonderful to see everyone getting involved, having a go and supporting their classmates and Houses throughout the day.

Of course, one of the highlights was the much-anticipated teacher 100m race to finish off the day! After plenty of excitement from the students on the sidelines, Miss Stokes (5E) took out first place, followed by Mr Politis in second and Miss S (PE) in third. Miss S may have given the rest of the field a generous 5-metre head start, but she very nearly managed to catch them all before the finish line!!

A huge thank you to all of our staff, parent helpers and Highvale Secondary College students who volunteered their time and helped make the day run so smoothly. Most importantly, congratulations to all of our students for their fantastic participation, sportsmanship and enthusiasm. You made it such an enjoyable and successful Athletics Day!

Following the day’s results, selected students will have the opportunity to represent Highvale at District Athletics. A Compass event will be published within the next week to notify the students who have qualified and provide their families with further information.
