SCHOOL PRODUCTION REHEARSALS
On the 1st of September, Highvale Primary School is having their production, Porridge!
The cast have been working so hard leading up to this and we cannot wait to show it to everybody. They have been rehearsing every Tuesday after school and sometimes at lunch or recess. We have been trying to get through all the scenes and practice some of the solo singing parts.
I feature as Mother Hubbard from the nursey rhymes in the production. Rehearsal’s have been really fun and it’s great to see everybody getting into character. My favourite part is coming together as a full cast and seeing everybody laughing and enjoying themselves.
Sometimes we forget our lines and just stand there but then Mx Dutlow will prompt us, and we all just laugh it off. A few parts like when everyone has to yell at the same time at one person are just really funny and everybody starts giggling and can’t hold together a straight face.
So many of us have gotten more confident with their singing parts and singing in front of an audience. Mx Dutlow also constantly reminds us to be big and bold and make sure they can see our facial expressions from a mile away.
We have all also been practicing at lunchtime and recess with our scripts and our friends. Some people who are in younger grades songs, like Olivia (Simple Simon) and I have gone to their performing arts class. Olivia and I went a couple times to the Year 2 classes so we could learn the actions and words with them.
During our whole school rehearsal last week, we finally performed it with the year twos and Olivia and I were a bit rusty but overall we weren’t horrible. There were a couple parts that we haven’t got the hang of, but all we need to make it better is practice!
I cannot wait for our production, and I just know it’s going to be amazing! Everybody is just so excited! I can’t wait to see the room filled with everybody’s bright and happy faces!!!

On the 14th of August each grade came to the MPC and performed their production song and got to watch the main cast preform different scenes.
All the classes and cast members are super excited to perform in front of their family and friends.
We are so very grateful for Mx Dutlow and Mrs Dowling who have been working super hard to put everything together. Each class is making their own part of their costumes.
We just can’t wait for it to come together, including many funny jokes and amazing cast members. We are very grateful to everyone that chipped in and helped.
Book your seats to enjoy the wonderful production of Porridge presented by Highvale Primary School. We can’t wait to see you there!!!
