Farewell Mrs Marasinghe
This is the first term in 33 years that Mrs Marasinghe hasn't worked at Evans High School. She is still missed by staff and students - we wish her the very best for her new phase in life.
Celebrating Women in Science at Evans High School!
On Tuesday, 11th February 2025, the Science Faculty at Evans High School will be celebrating the International Day of Women and Girls in Science!
This global day is dedicated to recognising the crucial role that women and girls play in science and technology. It aims to raise awareness about the gender gap that still exists in these fields and inspire young women to pursue careers in science. The 2025 theme is "Innovators and Champions of Gender Equality", highlighting the importance of women who are leading the way in breaking barriers and shaping the future of science.
As part of this celebration, we have invited an incredible lineup of guest speakers from diverse fields, including:
· Software Engineering
· Medical Research
· Sustainability Engineering
· Environmental Science
Our speakers will share their journeys, offer career advice, and empower our students to build their future careers in science.
The Science Faculty hopes that this year’s celebration will not be the last, but the first of many yearly events dedicated to celebrating and inspiring women in science at Evans High School.
Let’s celebrate women in science and shape the future together!
