Ms Hanlon - Year 11
During Spirit Week, our Year 11 students embarked on an overnight camp to Cockatoo Island. Despite the wet weather, they embraced the elements and had an unforgettable experience. The camp offered the perfect blend of history, relaxation, and the timeless joy of roasting marshmallows by the campfire.
The adventure kicked off with a train and ferry ride, setting the stage for a memorable journey. Upon arriving at Cockatoo Island, the group explored its historical landmarks on a guided walk. The highlight of the day was a fascinating convict tour, where students delved into the island’s rich history. This engaging activity brought the past to life, deepening their appreciation for Australia’s heritage.
After dinner, everyone gathered around the campfire to roast marshmallows. A special thank you goes to Mr. Sondaar for getting the fire going—it was the perfect way to end the day.
We’re incredibly proud of our Year 11 students, whose respectful and trustworthy behaviour throughout the camp exemplified our school values. Their positive attitude made the experience enjoyable for all and set a wonderful tone for the year ahead.
A huge thank you to Ms. Bilgin for organising the camp, as well as to Ms. Tryhuba, Mr. Kumar, and Mr. Sondaar for their support in making this opportunity possible. The memories created on Cockatoo Island were a fantastic way to mark the beginning of the Year 11 cohort’s final year of schooling.
Mr Nasiri - Year 7
