Year 8 Desktop Lamp Project
Our Year 8 students have once again amazed us with their creativity and technical skills. This year, they embarked on an exciting project to design and build their own unique desktop lamps.
By combining traditional materials like wood and metal with cutting-edge technology, such as Arduino microcontrollers and LED lights, students were able to create truly personalised and functional lighting solutions. This integrated approach allowed them to explore the intersection of mixed materials in Technology mandatory.
The project not only fostered creativity and problem-solving skills but also introduced students to the world of programming and electronics. We are incredibly proud of their achievements and look forward to seeing the innovative ideas they will bring to life in the future.
Year 7 Race Car Project
Year 7 students at Evans High School recently showcased their engineering skills with a fantastic race car project. They were tasked with designing and building their own miniature race cars, and the results were truly impressive.
The project encouraged students to think creatively and apply their knowledge of engineering and technology. They were able to experiment with different materials and designs and learn about aerodynamics, friction, and other important engineering principles.
The students' enthusiasm for the project was evident as they worked diligently to create their unique race cars. The finished products were a testament to their hard work and dedication.
On the day of the race, the atmosphere was charged with anticipation. Students eagerly lined up at the starting line, their self-designed cars poised for action. As the race commenced, cars zoomed across the track, navigating twists and turns with remarkable precision. The competition was fierce, but in the end, Kaitlyn Fuerzas was crowned the overall champion with her innovative design.
Year 8 Felt Project
Our Year 8 students have been hard at work creating unique and beautiful felt projects. This hands-on project has allowed students to explore the art of needle felting, a technique that involves using special needles to shape and design wool fibres.
By combining creativity with technical skill, students have designed and crafted intricate felt designs. From different animal prints to abstract designs, the possibilities are endless. This project has not only enhanced students' artistic abilities but also developed their patience and attention to detail.
VET Hospitality
Our new class of Hospitality students successfully completed their first service period by preparing and packing 75 lunch boxes for the Primary School Principal's Award Morning Tea.
The students demonstrated enthusiasm, professionalism and teamwork throughout the process and demonstrated competency in essential hospitality skills. Their hard work, dedication and newly developed skills ensured the event was a success.
WELL DONE STUDENTS!
