Deputy Principal Report
Farewell from Ms Doyle
Today I was searching through old photos to share some memories, and I found a handwritten note that I had photographed whilst we worked on our first School Improvement Plan in 2018. It was our vision for the next 3 years and it says:
“Evans High School builds a culture of high expectations, academic achievement and personal excellence through developing confident, resilient, empathetic students in an inclusive, diverse comprehensive high school.”
I believe that we are achieving this and continue to build upon the successes we have had to ensure both physically our school continues to improve, the high expectations of students and their ability to strive to do their best continues to improve. We have built a culture of being respectful, motivated and trustworthy learners and continue to support students in achieving the Evans expectations.
It has been an honour and a pleasure to be the Deputy Principal at Evans High School for 7 years, and TAS Head Teacher for 1. It is with mixed emotions that I will be moving to Chifley College Dunheved Campus in 2025, exciting because I believe that challenges and new beginnings are good for us, sad because I can see all the wonderful changes at Evans High School, because I have met so many respectful students and built strong relationships with their families and because we have so many wonderful teachers, who I built strong friendships and collegial relationship with.
Some highlights for me have included:
- TAS Head Teacher, 2017 and running multiple STEM activities including the STEM Road show visiting and then hosting our own Mouse Trap Car Challenge
- Setting up the Middle School
- Attending school camps
- Attending formals
- Completing External Validation twice
- Being a part of The Compressed Curriculum changes
- YONDR Pouches changing our school culture- a noisy playground again!
- Covid teaching (Not fun) but rewarding
- Introducing Child Studies and Exploring Early Childhood subjects
- Running Outdoor Education and enjoying some amazing hikes with students
- Seeing the culture and reputation of our school change
- Working with all of the wonderful Front Office Staff
- Watching all of our students grow into amazing young adults
These are just some of the memories in pictures.
Thank you for having me as your Deputy Principal, thank you for advocating for your children, thank you for supporting us as we implement change and finally, thank you for allowing me to be a part of your community.
Mrs Jones
Thank you to all staff at Evans High School for a very productive and rewarding 2024. A big thank you to our wonderful teaching staff, who ensure the high standards we strive for at Evans are upheld.
I would like to wish Ms Doyle the very best at her new school. She has been a wonderful colleague and will be dearly missed. I would also like to extend my best wishes to all teaching staff who are leaving Evans this year. Farewell and good luck.
I hope that our students and their families have a very safe and wonderful holiday period. Use the time to rest and recuperate
I look forward to another great year at Evans in 2025.
