Design Track Program

Lots of exciting things are happening in the Visual Art Department this term. Three students are lucky to be attending the Design Tracks program which is offered by the Queensland Gallery of Modern Art. The students will be mentored by highly regarded Indigenous artists, attend art workshops and encounter possibilities for post-school opportunities at TAFE.

We also have three students exhibiting work in the Receive>Respond exhibition which opens on 30 May at the Tanks Arts Centre. Receive>Respond gives young artists the opportunity to submit work, and if selected, they are matched with another student and they must respond to each other's work. The exhibition is filled with surprises as students usually have the opportunity to meet their partner and discuss their artworks.

We are also proud that two art students have submitted work into the Cairns Iconic Bus Stop Design Competition, which will be exhibited at the Cairns City Urban Precincts Exhibition. Opening night is 5 June.
