Victorian State School Spectacular “SPLASH”

This year, I had the privilege of coordinating a fantastic group of 16 students from Woodman’s Hill SC who participated in the 2024 Victorian State School Spectacular as part of the mass dance ensemble.

The show, titled SPLASH, was an energetic celebration featuring bright, vibrant costumes and talented performers from state schools across Victoria. With an incredible blend of dancers, singers, choirs, and orchestra members, all guided by professional coaches and choreographers, the production came together beautifully. Performed at John Caine Arena before a massive audience, it was truly a spectacular event showcasing the immense talent and dedication of our students.

The students have been rehearsing their numerous dance routines from February all the way through to the show in September. This experience not only builds their performance skills but also enhances their self-confidence, social skills, and communication abilities. Additionally, the dedication required from both the students and their families is immense, showcasing their remarkable commitment to making the event a success.

I would like to personally thank the students for their commitment to both myself and the school, as well as extend my thanks to their parents and guardians for their ongoing support. This journey, from rehearsals to the show weekend, would not have been possible without the dedication of many staff members at Woodman’s Hill. Their assistance and support throughout the entire year have been invaluable, and I deeply appreciate their contributions to making this experience such a success. Bring on State School Spectacular 2025.
