SPC Athletics Carnival
Excitement is building for the 2026 College House and Age Athletics Carnival, which will be held tomorrow at the Sydney Olympic Park Athletic Centre (SOPAC). Students have been busy registering for Championship events and preparing to compete for House points and individual honours.
The Athletics Carnival remains one of the highlights of the College sporting calendar, bringing together students from all year groups in a celebration of participation, competition, and House spirit. We encourage all boys to get involved, support their House and make the most of the opportunities available throughout the day.
All students and parents/carers have received information regarding the day.
Rugby Takes Centre Stage at Brookvale Oval
This weekend promises to be a special occasion for SPC Rugby, with both the First XV and Second XV taking the field at the iconic Brookvale Oval (4 Pines Park), one of Sydney's most recognised sporting venues. The opportunity to play at a ground steeped in sporting history is a fantastic experience for our students and one that they have earned through their commitment and performances throughout the season.
The occasion provides our players with the chance to test themselves against competition powerhouse St Augustine’s College. We encourage all members of the SPC community, including students, parents/carers, Old Boys, and supporters, to make the trip to Brookvale and support our senior rugby teams.
Football and Tennis Continue Strong Seasons
Our football and tennis programs also continue to go from strength to strength as teams head into another important round of ISA competition this weekend. Across both sports, students have demonstrated impressive commitment to training and competition, with many teams showing significant improvement throughout the season.
Football teams will be looking to continue building momentum as they take on strong opposition across multiple age groups. The dedication shown by players and coaches has been evident each week, with students representing the College with skill, determination, and sportsmanship.
Similarly, our tennis players continue to perform strongly across the ISA competition. The individual resilience and discipline required in tennis have been on full display, with students embracing the challenges of both singles and doubles competition while contributing valuable points for their teams.
As always, we thank our coaches, staff, parents/carers, and supporters for their ongoing commitment to our sporting programs. Your support plays a vital role in creating positive experiences for our students and helping them achieve their best both on and off the field.
We wish all SPC teams the very best for their fixtures this weekend.
P&F Support
This Saturday, the P&F will be opening the Canteen at Powell Pavillion for all your game time goodies and coffee. Think toasted cheese sandwiches, donuts, muffins, and barista made coffee!
It is always a great day and a wonderful way to meet other parents. All funds raised on the day go directly back into our school community to support our boys.
Football parent/carer volunteers are required. Please sign up for a shift to support our P&F, students and visiting schools.
