2026 Men's Health Awareness Week

This week, from 15–21 June, our school community is recognising Men's Health Week, a national initiative that encourages men and boys to take a proactive approach to their health and wellbeing.

To show our support, students and staff have been wearing blue ribbons throughout the week. These ribbons serve as a visible reminder that men's health matters and that conversations around health should be encouraged, normalised and supported within our community.

While Men's Health Week is often associated solely with mental health, the campaign focuses on all aspects of men's health. This includes physical health, preventative care, ongoing illnesses, lifestyle factors, family wellbeing and mental health. The aim is simple: to encourage men to take their health seriously and seek support when they need it.

This year's theme, "101 Reasons to See Your GP", highlights the many reasons men should book a check-up rather than putting concerns aside. The campaign reminds us that a visit to the doctor doesn't need to be reserved for serious issues. Whether it's ongoing back pain, a sore tooth that won't go away, unusual tiredness, an old sporting injury, or simply a routine health check, a GP can help identify problems early and provide the right advice and treatment.

As a school community, we encourage everyone to support the men in their lives by starting a conversation and encouraging them to book a check-up. Sometimes the most important step for your health is also the simplest one: just go and see your GP.
