Extra-Curricular at MAG

Young Performers Concert – 1 June, 6:15 pm – 8:00 pm
The Young Performers Concert is ready and raring to go this coming Monday, 1 June. This year’s concert will feature 54 performances from students across a wide variety of instruments, musical backgrounds and year levels, all supported by our wonderful team of 11 private music tutors. We also have an opening performance from the amazing Jr Singers, led by Ms Fiona Gibbs.
Students have been working incredibly hard in preparation for the evening, and we are looking forward to showcasing the dedication, courage and talent of our young performers in what promises to be a fantastic night of music.
MAG Rocks The American 2.0 – 14 June, 1:00 pm – 6:00 pm
On Sunday, 14 June, MAG Rocks The American returns for its second year, supported by our rock band tutors Charlie Bedford and Shane McGrath, alongside music staff member Mike Hearn.
With a record-breaking 20 bands expected to perform between 1:00 pm and 6:00 pm, this is shaping up to be an incredible afternoon and evening of live music from our students. We extend our sincere thanks to the American Hotel Echuca for once again supporting our school and generously hosting this exciting community event.
The venue has kindly donated vouchers to be raffled on the night, alongside a range of other small prizes. Funds raised through raffle ticket sales and donations will fund the purchase of much-needed music equipment to support the growing engagement in music at MAG, such as amplifiers, microphones and additional Stage 2 music resources.
If you are planning on attending, please note that Moama Anglican Grammar is not under supervisory responsibility for students attending the event, except while students are directly performing with their band.
Please be aware that the venue is expected to be very busy, and additional wait times at the bar and restaurant areas are likely. Families are reminded to supervise their children closely throughout the event, as this is a public venue that serves alcohol.
We extend our thanks in advance to the staff at the American Hotel Echuca, who will be working hard to accommodate what is expected to be a very large crowd throughout the event. We appreciate the patience and understanding of families towards the venue during busy periods across the afternoon and evening.
Extra-Curricular Instrumental Tuition – Now Open for 2026
MAG offers a comprehensive Extra-Curricular Instrumental Music Program supported by specialist tutors across percussion, brass, woodwind, strings, guitar, piano, drums, bass, voice and rock bands.
The beginning of the year is an ideal time to commence instrumental lessons. Places are limited, and some instruments may have waiting lists. Students already enrolled in the 2025 program do not need to reapply.
If you have any questions regarding Extra or Co-Curricular Music at MAG, please contact Mr Mike Hearn, Head of Student Experience – Extra-Curricular Music Program (K–12) at mhearn@moamagrammar.nsw.edu.au
