Chaplain's Chat

Walking Together
This week, our school came together to honour National Reconciliation Week, a significant time in our nation's cultural calendar. The theme for National Reconciliation Week 2026 is All In, a call for all Australians to commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation every single day. It was an honour for us to participate in a Welcome to Country ceremony with Wolithica man, Uncle Ric Ronan.
These walks are not just a symbolic gesture but a tangible expression of our commitment to reconciliation. They provide an opportunity for us to come together, learn from one another, and reaffirm our shared values of respect and understanding. Let us walk with open hearts and minds, embracing the diversity of our community and honouring the cultural heritage of the Yorta Yorta people.
As we engaged in the Prayer of the Four Directions, beginning in the east and moving around the compass, we looked to local wildlife and plants to remind us to be thankful and good stewards of the Country on which we walk. We were also pointed to Jesus Christ the Redeemer, who wholeheartedly gave of Himself to walk alongside us so that we might walk alongside others.
