Buddies Program Blossoming at Berwick Chase
Dear Berwick Chase Families,
There’s a real buzz of connection and care growing across our school thanks to the launch of our brand-new Buddies Program! Over the past few weeks, students from different year levels have been paired up, and it's been wonderful to see the magic unfold.
The first few sessions have focused on getting to know one another through fun, structured activities designed to break the ice and build trust. From shared stories to team-building games, it’s been heartwarming to see smiles, laughter, and genuine curiosity light up our classrooms.
I’ve had the absolute privilege of visiting each of the participating classes, and the atmosphere is something special. Our older students have stepped beautifully into their roles as mentors and leaders—offering guidance, encouragement, and kindness. Meanwhile, our younger students are absolutely thriving under the wing of their older, “wiser” buddies.
It’s a lovely way to finish each fortnight—slowing things down and giving our students space to connect in meaningful ways. The roots of these relationships are already taking hold, and I truly believe they will grow into something long-lasting and deeply positive for our school community.
I can’t wait to see how this program continues to evolve and enrich the culture of Berwick Chase. It’s another proud step forward in creating a safe, inclusive, and connected school for every learner.
Regards,
Chris Short
Proud Principal
