Maroondah Council - what's coming up?

Plastic Free July Discovery Day

 

Maroondah City Council's Waste Team have partnered with Your Library to take over the Realm building on Friday 5 July for the start of Plastic Free July.

There will be interactive displays, guest speakers, activities for the kids, a mini market, a chance to take home some reusable options, and an opportunity to take the Plastic Free pledge.

Mini Market

On the ground floor, discover some reusable and plastic free alternatives for your household at our mini market. You can:  

  • Make your own produce bags with Zero Waste Victoria
  • Buy products from a variety of stall holders who are helping to reduce single use plastics - from the bathroom, kitchen to shopping - such as the Soap Shakin Sisters, Mademoiselle Organic, The Everyday Recycler, The WUP Shop and more
  • Pick up your Plastic Free July Discovery Day passport on the day and complete a minimum of three actions for a chance to win one of three Plastic Free July hampers. (Tip: Bring your reusable drink bottle or cup). Terms and conditions apply.
  • Chat to Maroondah City Council’s Waste team about how you can make some simple swaps to reduce plastics in your household
