Prep level Mass

This week our Prep classes celebrated Mass on Wednesday. Once again, it is wonderful to see many of our families joining us for these masses. The theme of this Mass  Jesus asks us to be good friends by being kind, loving and forgiving. The students has read the story of Zaccheus at school and this was also the Gospel at Mass. This story reminds us that we can be friends and care for people no matter who they are. This is a very pertinent message for all as this week is Refugee week.

The first two Masses for next term are:

Year 6 Mass  Wednesday 24th July     9:15

Year 3 Mass  Wednesday 7th August 9:15

Prayer for Refugee Week

Lord, 

No one is a stranger to you and no one is ever far from your loving care 

In your kindness watch over refugees and asylum seekers, 

those separated from their loved ones, 

those who are lost, and those who have been exiled from their homes. 

Bring them safely to the place where they long to be, 

and help us always to show your kindness to strangers and those in need.

Amen

St Vincent de Paul Winter appeal

Today the school leaders and scial justice leaders collected your donations for the St Vincent de Paul Winter appeal. These donations will go directly to local families that are requiring some extra help at this time. Once again the families of our school have responded to the call, and been very generous. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

PARISH NEWS

An anointing mass followed by a light lunch will be held on Wednesday 10th July at 11 am in the Church.  If you know anyone who may be interested, please let them know.  We also need to know numbers for catering purposes.  Please contact the Parish House on 7036 9395 if interested.

We still need volunteers to cook, provide soup or main course, vegetable dish or salad, desserts or cakes for the Winter Shelter that we have running till the end of August.  If you can help in any way please call Ellen Holmes on 0404 357 023.

The next baptism information meeting will be held on Tuesday 9th July at 7.30 pm in the Parish House.  Please call the Parish Office on 7036 9395 to register your interest.

A reminder of First Eucharist dates for 2024:

Saturday 10th August at 6.00 pm, Sunday 11th August at 9.00 am and 5.00 pm

Saturday 17th August at 6.00 pm, Sunday 18th August at 9.00 am only

Next week is the end of Term 2.  If you are going away, please take care on the roads and enjoy the 2 week break.
