Celebration Spot

Honouring and celebrating our student's achievements

Each week we love to celebrate any students who may have achieved something significant during sporting events, dancing, baptisms, theatre, music achievements etc. both inside school and outside school.

Please email reception@dcs.tas.edu.au with the details (we would love a photo too!) so we can celebrate together as a community.

Rowing

Last weekend, Avé and Harper proudly represented DCS at the Northern Schools Rowing Regatta at Lake Barrington, delivering outstanding performances on the water.

Harper (Yr 7) took on her first-ever single scull race and dominated the field with an impressive performance, crossing the line in first place. Meanwhile, Avé (Year 9), partnered with a student from Ulverstone Secondary College (USC) and together they set the fastest time in the state for their race across both Southern and Northern regattas, securing first place!

The girls then joined forces with two USC students and a St Brendan Shaw College (SBSC) rower to compete in the coxed quad event. Despite three of the five crew members rowing up in higher year groups, they powered through to achieve a remarkable third place finish.

Congratulations to Avé and Harper for their dedication and success—what an incredible achievement for DCS!

Touch Football

Congratulations to Avery, Violet and Banjo (all Year 6) and Joseph (Year 2) who represented Devonport at the Touch Football State Cup in Hobart over the weekend.

Banjo's team (Under 12s) played brilliantly and showed true sportsmanship against adversity with not enough players and playing against teams that had been playing together a lot longer, but through all this they managed to finish in third place.

Avery and Violet's team (Under 12s) had a great competition with some wins for their team, finishing in third place.

Joseph played with the Under 10s, and while their scores are not recorded, he had a great time playing with his team.
