It was wonderful for the DCS team to meet with so many families last week and to hear how their child has commenced the year. These Getting to Know You discussions provided the opportunity for parents to share valuable insights into each students personality, interests and any specific needs. The information shared assists in enabling our DCS team to tailor their approach to better meet the individual needs of each student.
Please continue to keep your child's teacher updated with how your child is progressing throughout the year. We love hearing from you and we are here to support each family.
At DCS we have an exceptional team who are here to support our students and partner with each of our families. Throughout the term we will be introducing you to our incredible Primary Team and finding out a bit more about them. Enjoy!
Mrs Claire Walker
My favourite song is anything by 'For King and Country,' probably the song Shoulders.
My greatest accomplishment is being a mum to my 4 beautiful children.
My favourite place in Tasmania is my home or outdoors. I love being anywhere in the bush.
If I could choose any superpower it would be teleportation because I would love to just be able to click my fingers and be instantly there!
If I could be friends with someone in the Old Testament it would be Jonah, how cool would it be to hear first hand about being inside a whale!
My childhood dream job was to be a hairdresser, extra fun fact: I am a qualified hairdresser!
Mrs Emma Jones- Macuacua
My favourite songs are all the worship songs written and sung by Brooke Ligertwood.
My greatest accomplishment is being a mother to two wonderful children.
My favourite place in Tasmania at the moment is Low Head, but we love anywhere that overlooks the ocean.
If I could choose any superpower it would be being able to read a book and not fall asleep!
If I could be friends with someone in the Old Testament I would be friends with Queen Esther. She displayed courage and put her total trust in God.
When I was a child I always wanted to be an air hostess because I wanted to travel the world.
Mrs Eljsa Malherbe
My favourite song is 'The King of Love' by I Am They.
My greatest accomplishment is completing my Masters whilst moving interstate.
I have been in Tasmania for just over a month, so I have to say Devonport is my favourite place in Tasmania.
If I could choose a superpower I would choose the ability to stop/manipulate time. Imagine how much I could get done....imagine being able to navigate traffic without traffic!
If I could be friends with someone in the Old Testament I would be friends with Ruth, a girl who knew what's what!
My dream job was a ballerina (haha!), singer/vocal performer, but in the end my dream job turned out to be a mum.
Fun fact - I am the second child of five. I have 4 brothers, and as children they knew it was best to listen to me!
Mrs Alison Carn
My favourite song is 'Still.'
My greatest accomplishment is teaching myself to play the guitar and also rowing under the Hobart bridge.
My favourite place in Tasmania is Bicheno.
If I could choose any super power I would like to be like Jeanie in ‘I Dream of Jeanie’ and be able to make things happen with a blink of an eye!
If I could be friends with someone in the Old Testament I would be friends with Daniel because he is such a role model with his obedience, faith and trust in God.
My dream job is being a teacher. When I was a little girl I would line up my dolls and teddies and I would play school with them!
