Bullying No Way! Week
This week, our school community came together to celebrate Bullying No Way! Week, with the theme “Small Acts, Big Impact.” We began by reading Have You Filled a Bucket Today? and explored how our words and actions can affect how others feel.
As a class, we discussed what kindness looks like, feels like and sounds like, sharing examples such as inviting someone to play, helping others, checking if someone is okay and making sure everyone feels included. We then created a beautiful water drop collage, with each student sharing their own idea about kindness. We talked about how, just like individual drops of water come together to make something bigger, our small acts of kindness can have a big impact on the people around us.
Book Week
We had a wonderful time celebrating Book Week! The students loved dressing up as their favourite book characters and sharing their costumes with their classmates. We also enjoyed talking about our favourite books and giving each other book recommendations, helping us discover new stories and characters to enjoy. It was fantastic to see the students’ excitement and love of reading shine throughout the week!
Last week we were also lucky enough to enjoy an incredible live performance from Perform! Education as part of our Book Week celebrations. The performance brought the 2026 CBCA (Children’s Book Council of Australia) Featured Books to life through storytelling, music, characters and lots of energy! The students were captivated from beginning to end and loved seeing some of the wonderful books and characters they have been reading brought to life on stage. It was a fantastic way to celebrate our love of books and reading!
SunSmart HATS!
Friendly reminder to dust off the SunSmart hats, ready for the 1st of September!
All students will be required to wear the school sunsmart hat when participating in outdoor activities, including play times and PE/Sport classes. It is suggested that they are also worn to and from school.
We ask that all hats are clearly named.
Telling the Time
Students are currently learning to tell the time on an analogue clock. By the end of Year 2 it is expected that students recognise and read the time represented on an analogue clock to the hour, half-hour and quarter hour. This is a notoriously challenging task! We ask, where possible, that you continue to discuss the analogue clock and its features with your child and make links to the digital clock- that we are all more exposed to in our digital era! If you have any questions, please see your class teacher.
