What a fantastic start to Term 2. It has been wonderful to see how quickly everyone has settled back into school life and learning. Staff have shared just how impressed they are with the way students have returned, focused, positive, and ready to go. It truly feels like learning has picked up right where we left off. This is something to be very proud of. Well done everyone.
This term, we have made a few small adjustments to our timetable in response to our data, along with student and staff feedback. Even in this short time, we are already noticing some really positive benefits.
Some of these changes include moving Art to a Tuesday to help balance the week, as well as introducing short, targeted small group sessions to support reading. These groups allow us to focus closely on individual needs and support each student to grow with confidence.
As part of our ongoing support for students, Brady has also completed training to introduce Lego Club. It has been fantastic to see how students strong interest in Lego can be used in such a positive way to support wellbeing, teamwork, and engagement. We are really looking forward to this becoming part of our school program.

'Calm Bodies, Focused Minds, Ready to Learn'
At school, we are helping students be ready for learning by building their understanding of what is happening inside their bodies.
This is called interoception, or mindful body awareness. It helps students notice body signals like a fast heartbeat or butterflies in the tummy, and understand how they are feeling.
When students can recognise their feelings, they are better able to respond in positive ways, helping them feel calm, settled, and ready to learn.
It is always such a proud moment walking alongside our students during the ANZAC Day March as we come together to show our respect and gratitude. Our students represented the school beautifully, demonstrating respect, responsibility, and pride throughout the service.
Events like this are an important way for our students to learn about the significance of ANZAC Day, honour those who have served, and reflect on the values of courage, mateship, and sacrifice. Thank you to the families who supported this event and joined us in representing our school and community.

Mother’s and Special Person Day is celebrated on the second Sunday in May. At school, we will be holding a special stall on Friday 8th May to celebrate this occasion.
Students will have the opportunity to purchase a small gift for someone special in their life. Please ensure students bring no more than $10. This is a lovely way for students to show appreciation for the people who care for, support, and guide them each day.

Amazing effort today! (Saturday 2nd May)
We had a wonderful afternoon at the Cowwarr Football Club gates. A huge thank you to Mel, Dave, Emma, Ebony, Fezz, Westin and Harlow for giving up their time to support this effort. Your enthusiasm and teamwork truly reflect what our school is all about. We raised an incredible $1,155 from raffle ticket sales today! This brings our total to $1,825 raised for the school.
What an amazing result from simply getting involved and supporting our local community. It was great to support our local club and our school at the same time. Thanks everyone!

This week, our Year 5 and 6 students brought home expressions of interest for our upcoming Cluster Camp.
Cluster Camp is a wonderful opportunity for students to connect with others their own age across our network schools. These experiences help build friendships, confidence, and a sense of belonging, with many of these students likely to continue these connections into high school.
Please make sure these forms are returned ASAP.
