Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC)

 

Next term, EMC will be running the Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC) for students in Years 7–10 who wish to participate.

 

The AMC is a 30-question problem-solving competition designed to challenge students’ mathematical thinking and reasoning skills. All participants receive a certificate, with awards ranging from Participation through to High Distinction based on their results.

Consecutive numbers are written on five separate cards, one on each card. 

If the sum of the smallest three numbers is 60, what is the sum of the largest three numbers?
