Year 8 Boys and Girls Volleyball

On Tuesday 24th of October, the year 8 boys and girls volleyball teams competed in the Northern Metropolitan Region Finals. It was a commendable effort to reach this level of competition and represent the Mickleham Division. 

In the tournament, both teams were extremely competitive, winning 2 out of their 3 games within their pool. In round 1, they narrowly lost (2 sets to 1) their first games, with the boys playing against Lalor and the girls battling it out against Northcote. 

However, in a demonstration of persistence and the spirit of ‘not giving up’, the two teams excelled in their second and third games. 

In the boys' competition, Craigieburn won against Greensborough Secondary College and Brunswick Secondary College. Similarly, the girls were victorious against Melbourne Girls College and Macleod Secondary College.

Despite not advancing to the final game, our 2023 year 8 volleyball teams should be congratulated on their performance. Thank you to the coaching team; Giovanni Siolo Lilo, Vj Anua, Keython Xiong and Nicholas Yang.
