CDW Studios Open Day 2025

Come join us at our CDW Studios Open Day at our Melbourne Studio! Whether you're an aspiring entertainment design artist or just curious about the world of games, movies and animation, this is the perfect opportunity to kickstart your career at CDW Studios.

This in-person event gives students a chance to explore the creative space, meet staff and students, and learn more about the programs on offer.

There will be discussion around the Bachelor of Creative Arts (Visual Effects and Entertainment Design) degree and CDW Studios unique partnership with Flinders University.

New Sport and Recreation Management Degree

Learn how to manage and deliver community-based sport and recreation services and programs.

Commencing this year, La Trobe has introduced the new Bachelor of Sport and Recreation Management, a 3-year degree being offered at the Melbourne Campus in Bundoora. The focus of the degree is to equip students with skills and knowledge on how to provide a range of experiences and community events that drive physical activity, community development and general wellbeing outcomes for individuals and communities.

Students will develop an understanding of sport and recreation management and policy, needs assessment and evaluation, planning and programming, service delivery, community engagement and how to work with volunteers. 75% of the course is based on core subjects, with the remaining 25% based on a range of electives from university-wide electives, or electives from other interest areas or disciplines.

Students will also complete 200 hours of industry placement with leading sports and recreation organisations, and gain leadership skills through hands-on learning and industry connections.

The VCE entry requirements are Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English (EAL) or at least 20 in English other than EAL, as well as an ATAR.

Bachelor of Design (Digital Media)

With a clear focus on design, the Bachelor of Design (Digital Media) offers you the opportunity to explore diverse aspects of media and gain a strong digital media literacy.

Students develop a digital media design specialisation in interactive media, digital video, digital sound, or digital environments, combining theory with practical industry-based knowledge. Students explore how digital content can be planned, produced, applied and integrated.

Graduates of this degree can expect to work in a variety of professional roles, including:

web and interactive design
user experience design
app and mobile design
visual effects
motion graphics
sound design
digital production
digital environment and production design

Bachelor of Social Work

Are you passionate about improving the lives of children and families and helping to build strong communities for current and future generations?

The Bachelor of Social Work is available for study at Fed Uni’s Berwick and Gippsland campuses in 2026. This course has been co-designed with local partners to address this specific skills shortage. Students will participate in 140 days of placement, during which they will be exposed to challenging real-life situations in social work settings.

Experienced professionals in the field will support students every step of the way. They will become confident working with children and families, people of diverse cultural backgrounds and gender diversity. Students will also learn to work effectively with people with substance use issues and mental health problems and in palliative care, child protection, youth services and much more.
