Years 11 and 12 Formal

Georgia Kantzas and Mia Pummeroy, Year 12
On Friday, 21 February, excitement was in the air as we eagerly prepared for one of the most highly anticipated events of the year—our Years 11 and 12 Formal. The night promised enjoyment, glamour and a brief break from the demands of school life.
In the lead-up to the event, it was a mix of chaos and anticipation. Weeks of planning had gone into organising every detail, from choosing the ideal outfit to coordinating with friends.
On the day itself, we spent time getting our hair, makeup and nails done before capturing the perfect photos that showcased our outfits—all in eager anticipation of an unforgettable night.
As we arrived at the venue, all lingering stress melted away. The elegantly decorated space, buzzing with energy and excitement, made the moment feel truly surreal.
For one evening, both students and teachers had the chance to set aside the pressures of SACs and schoolwork to enjoy delicious food and listen to some light-hearted, humorous speeches.
One of the evening’s highlights was undoubtedly the dancefloor, where a mix of crowd favourites had everyone on their feet! The awards, which celebrated the students and teachers who truly stood out—including Best Dressed, Best Dancer, Best Couple, Best Dressed Teacher, and more—added an extra level of fun and entertainment to the night!
More than just a glamorous event, Formal was a meaningful celebration—especially for the Year 12s—as we marked our final year together and reflected on our journey as a cohort.
As the night drew to a close, there was a bittersweet feeling in the air, but also the joy of knowing we had created unforgettable memories together.
