ELC and Junior School Welcome Picnic

On the last day of summer, our ELC and Junior School families gathered on The Green for a wonderful Welcome Picnic. It was a fantastic opportunity to get together, catch up with new and familiar faces and strengthen our amazing school community.

A special shout out to the PFA for providing a delicious sausage sizzle for all and refreshing icy poles for students. In particular, Fiona Godfrey, Tim Lyons, Holly Mirmilstein, Lachlan Northey and Myriam Wright. Your hard work, enthusiasm and sizzling skills are truly appreciated.

Humans of Kilvington - Ms Ami Koller

Ms Ami Koller is a dedicated Kilvington Mathematics Teacher and Fysh House Mentor, known for multiplying students’ confidence, subtracting their doubts, and adding a passion for learning to their academic journey. Let’s get to know Ms Koller more!

When you were younger, what did you want to be when you grew up?

As a child, I dreamed of becoming a fashion designer. I was always fascinated by clothes, colours and fabrics. I loved sketching my own designs, imagining how they would look on a runway.

What AFL football team do you support (if any)?

Essendon, kind of!

You can travel to any destination in the world, where would you go?

I would choose Cuba! The vibrant culture, rich history and unique architecture intrigues me. I'd love to stroll through the colourful streets of Havana, soak in the lively atmosphere and learn about the country's history. Additionally, I have a keen interest in salsa dancing, and there's no better place to experience anything but in its birthplace.

Most memorable moment at Kilvington?

My most cherished memory so far has been sharing the experience with Years 11 and 12 students at last year’s Formal. The excitement and joy during the event were truly unforgettable. Seeing the students dressed up, enjoying themselves, and creating lasting memories was incredibly rewarding.

Share something about yourself that no one would ever guess.

I can deadlift 140 kilograms! Many people don't know this about me, as it's not something I usually talk about. I enjoy strength training and have worked hard to reach my goal.

If you could swap your job with anyone else at Kilvington, who would you swap with?

I'd choose to work in Food Tech and swap with Donna. I am excited about the idea of exploring the culinary arts, creating recipes, and understanding the science behind cooking. Donna's role would be a fantastic opportunity to combine creativity with practical skills, and it would be a highly rewarding experience.

Your favourite thing about working at Kilvington?

Definitely the strong sense of community. There's a genuine feeling of belonging and support among the staff and students. It creates a positive and motivating environment that makes coming to work enjoyable. Additionally, my students are fantastic, and working with them is a bonus. Their enthusiasm, curiosity and growth are incredibly fulfilling to witness and contribute to why I love being part of Kilvington.

Financial support for school expenses

Belinda Collins, Finance and Administration Manager

The Victorian Government is providing financial assistance to help families cover school-related costs.

The School Saving Bonus will be allocated to eligible students once the Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund (CSEF) process has been completed for 2025. If parents received the CSEF payment in 2024 they do not need to reapply unless there has been a change in circumstances.
