Years 9 and 10 International Ethics Olympiad Finals
Tania Whitehead, Talent Development and Enrichment Coordinator
Congratulations to our 'ethletes'—Liam Eliav, Sasha Polikushin, Ethan Cohen from Year 10, along with Alexander Moore from Year 9 —who represented Kilvington in the International final of the Ethics Olympiad on 19 February.
Competing against 46 teams from across Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong and Singapore, they participated in three rounds of ethical discussions, assessed on clarity, conciseness and respectful discourse.
The competition was of an exceptionally high standard, and we are proud to announce that the Kilvington team placed ninth overall and was the top-performing team from Victoria!
International Women's Day at Kilvington
This morning,we gathered for a truly special International Women’s Day Breakfast, reflecting on the importance of gender equality and how we can all play a role in inspiring change.
A huge thank you to our incredible guest speaker, Thusyanthi Jayasinghe (Class of 2004).
As a Systems Engineer and Technical Lead working on the Australian Defence Force’s Health Knowledge Management System, Thusyanthi is driving innovation in critical healthcare solutions. Her journey—from Kilvington student to industry leader and devoted parent—is a powerful reminder of what’s possible.
We were also treated to incredible performances from our School Captains, Music Captains and senior students, who brought the morning to life with beautiful singing, instrumental music and a powerful poetry slam performance.
Inspiring the next generation—both men and women—is essential in creating a future where opportunities know no boundaries.
Let’s continue to uplift, support, and challenge each other to break barriers and build a world where everyone can thrive equally.
