Principal's Message
Dear Parent and Carers,
As we move through a particularly busy and exciting time of the school year, it is wonderful to see our students embracing the many opportunities available to help prepare them for life beyond the College. Across all year levels, students are engaging in experiences that build confidence, develop career awareness and strengthen the skills they will need for their future education, training and employment.
Over recent weeks, our students have participated in a wide range of career and pathway activities. Senior students attended the Job Skills Expo at Lardner Park, exploring a variety of industries through interactive experiences, while our Year 9 students connected with local employers at the Job Jump event, gaining valuable insights into the many career opportunities available within our region.
Our Year 11 Business Management students were able to see classroom learning brought to life during their visit to Peter Dullard Ford, where they explored real-world business operations and management practices. Year 12 students have also taken an important step towards their post-school journey through their VTAC information session, beginning the process of researching courses and planning their tertiary pathways with the support of our staff.
Planning for the future begins well before senior school. Our Year 8 students have recently completed their Year 9 subject selections for 2027, an important milestone that encourages them to reflect on their interests, strengths and future aspirations. This process helps students take ownership of their learning and begin shaping pathways that align with their goals.
It is equally inspiring to celebrate the individual aspirations of our students. Congratulations to Year 10 student David, who recently visited La Trobe University to explore nursing as a future career. His commitment and enthusiasm are a wonderful example of setting ambitious goals and working towards them.
Our middle years students are also developing the skills that will serve them well into the future. Year 9 and 10 students recently participated in the Community Innovators Workshop at Federation University, collaborating with students from across Gippsland to solve real-world challenges through creativity, teamwork and leadership.
These experiences reflect our commitment to ensuring every student is equipped with the knowledge, skills and confidence to make informed decisions about their future. I would like to thank our dedicated staff, our community partners and local employers for providing these valuable opportunities, and I encourage all students to continue embracing the experiences that will help shape their future pathways.
Finally, a shout out to our College Chess Team on a fantastic achievement at their very first Regional Chess Tournament! On Wednesday, 14 students from Years 7-12 travelled to Pakenham to compete in seven challenging 30-minute matches throughout the day. This was the first tournament experience for every member of the team, making their efforts even more impressive. Check out our Library section for more details on the event.
As always, our College is buzzing with activity, and it’s great to see our students have the opportunity to engage in all the activities on offer, inside and outside the classroom.
