Welcome to Term 2!

Welcome back to our 1/2 families! We hope you had a wonderful Easter and your break was restful and ready for a exciting Term 2!

A few kind reminders:

  • Each morning we stop for fruit snack. Please send a piece of fresh fruit or vegetable for your child to snack on during this time.
  • Reading homework folders and books are due to be returned EVERY FRIDAY. They will be sent home with fresh books each Monday or Tuesday afternoon.
  • Please make sure to label all your child's uniform. Item's that are clearly labelled are much easier to return to their rightful owner.
  • Refer to the communication from Mr Steve regarding uniform requirements. Children who are not in correct uniform will receive warnings and uniform infringements.

Please contact Ms Kayla if you are having trouble obtaining the correct uniform items.

Science Week

Yesterday, we held our annual Science Week! This year’s theme was "Seeds of Change." The students engaged in plenty of fun and creative activities within their house teams, exploring how something as small as a seed can make a massive impact on our environment.

Inquiry- Places and Spaces

This term our 1/2's will be learning about our community and people who help keep our community safe. We look forward to having some special visitors come along and share with our class in the upcoming weeks about how they help in keeping the community safe. It is not too late, if you help the community (e.g. nurse, doctor, police, dentist, sports coach) and would like to share your experience with the 1/2's, please get in touch with Ms Kayla, Ms Laura or Ms Terri.

Ed and Faith

Ms Kayla shared a special show and tell with 1/2K. After learning about Baptism as a class, Ms Kayla was gifted the Paschal candle from her local church. This candle was very special as Ms Kayla was the first to be baptised with this candle on Easter last year. The children were amazed and excited to each hold the candle and see the amazing details and symbolism within the design.
