1/2LT
Ms Laura & Ms Terri
Our term has started off strong! We have seen the children return from the holidays with confidence knowing the routines and demonstrating they are ready to learn. A few kind reminders:
Refer to the communication from Mr Steve regarding uniform requirements. Children who are not in correct uniform will receive warnings and uniform infringements. Please contact Ms Laura or Ms Terri if you are having trouble obtaining the correct uniform items.
We are looking forward to another fantastic term of learning in 1/2LT this term!

This term, in our literacy group we are having a big focus on fluency. The children have fluency partners to practise their reading with during our group time. Fluency is important because it helps children move from “sounding out every word” to understanding and enjoying what they read. When reading becomes smoother and more automatic, children can focus on meaning instead of effort.

Our classroom prayer table has changed to white for the Easter season, reminding us of new life and joy. We added butterflies to show how Jesus’ resurrection brings hope and transformation. The children enjoy noticing the bright symbols that help us remember this special, joyful time in our faith. Chris is our first special person to take home the prayer backpack for this term!

This term our 1/2's will be learning about our community and people who help keep our community safe. We look forward to having some special visitors come along and share with our class in the upcoming weeks about how they help in keeping the community safe. It is not too late, if you help the community (e.g. nurse, doctor, police, dentist, sports coach) and would like to share your experience with the 1/2's, please get in touch with Ms Laura, Ms Terri or Ms Kayla.
This week the children created beautiful pictures using the autumn leaves that had fallen to the ground over the break. The children loved collecting and comparing the different coloured leaves.

As part of Science Week, the children explored the physics of flight by creating their own helicopter seeds. After making them we took them to the playground for a very successful test flight. There was plenty of excitement as designs twirled, fluttered, and zoomed through the air. This hands-on investigation helped students think like scientists while having a joyful, curiosity-filled learning experience.

Wishing a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to:
Chase and Ryan who celebrated their birthdays during the holidays.
