Liturgical Dance at Catholic Performing Arts

We are proud to celebrate the inspiring performance of our Liturgical Dance group at the Catholic Performing Arts Festival, once again held in the beautiful Chapel of St Brigid, Mercy College. This year, 18 talented students came together to present a moving routine that captured the hearts of all who attended.

The dance was inspired by a passage from the book of James: "Whenever you face trials of any kind, consider it nothing but joy, because you know that the testing of your faith produces endurance… so that you may be mature and complete, lacking in nothing."

Drawing from this message, the performance told a story of perseverance through life’s challenges—the “mountains” we all face—and the growth that comes from trusting God along the way. Through expressive movement and thoughtful choreography, the dancers portrayed the journey from hardship to hope, embodying themes of faith, endurance, and spiritual strength.

Their performance was a beautiful reminder that trials are not meant to break us but to build us into who we are called to be. Each dancer’s commitment, artistry, and unity brought this message to life, creating a powerful moment of reflection for the audience.

We are thrilled to share that the Performing Arts Festival Committee recognised this piece with an Outstanding Performance Award, a testament to the dancers’ exceptional skill and heartfelt expression.

Congratulations to our Liturgical Dance group for their dedication, talent, and for sharing such a meaningful message with our community.
